About
Our breakfasts are freshly cooked and served in the Barn at a time you choose. In summer, you could start the day with breakfast on the terrace, surrounded by garden and birdsong.
There's a large choice:
Taste the Best of British with a generous farmhouse breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes.
Graze among fresh fruit, smoothies, juices, yoghurts, mueslis, porridge and cereals
Or go continental with fresh baked croissants and home-made apricot jam.
Stay a few days and try them all!
Our eggs (hens permitting) come from the garden, jams and marmalade are homemade and the honey is local. When farming, Richard produced pigs for bacon for the special farmhouse contract for Waitrose. He knows that this supermarket chain works hard to support British farming and to source good food, so he still supports them and brings home their bacon and sausages.
Special dietary requirements will gladly be catered for with forewarning. Within the range of the menu, we hope you find something to enjoy, but if not, we can arrange to exclude, or add, ingredients as you require. As well as offering a traditional breakfast, we always have available fresh fruit, yoghurt (goat's and cow), oat milk, smoothies, juices, a range of mueslis and cereals, and herb teas.
A simple plate supper can be served for the Tired or Hungry Traveller. A home-cooked supper might be shepherd's pie, pasta, soup with bread and cheese, ham and eggs or lamb hotpot, followed by rhubarb crumble or baked apple. In summer, veg and eggs may be home grown.
